Profile

Abdulrahman Sambo was born on February 10, 1956 in Ikara LGA, Kaduna State. 

He qualified as a Medical Doctor in 1980, having earned an MBBS degree from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. He earned an MHPEd degree under the World Health Organization (WHO) fellowship from University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia in 1992 and also earned a Certificate in Health Planning, Economics and Management as a Chevenning Scholar from Nuffield Institute for Health, University of Leeds, UK in 1996.

 He was admitted into the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos, 2003 and became a Member of the National Institute (mni).

He began his career as a House Officer and rose to the post of a Registrar of Medicine at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria between 1980 to 1985. He later served variously in administrative positions at the National Universities Commission (NUC) between 1987 to 2006.

Sambo’s wealth of experience has found him in several other administrative positions
